Since 1992 together with the Research Center Jülich (FZJ /Forschungszentrum Jülich) GNS operates waste treatment facilities within the premises of FZJ for the treatment of radioactive operational waste. To enable its permanent safe final disposal, solid wastes are compacted and dried before being shipped to an interim storage facility or – later – the Konrad repository.
